Riverside Park Neighborhood Association
The Riverside Park Neighborhood Association (RSPNA) was created to
celebrate and help improve our neighborhood, by bringing together neighbors
and businesses in the Riverside Park Neighborhood.
The Riverside Park Neighborhood Association web site was created to
inform our neighbors of Association meetings, neighborhood and city activities,
and to share ideas and other news about our great neighborhood.
The City of Milwaukee Water is Works is a well-managed, efficient public utility. As a result, water rates are relatively low and the water is high quality.
Some City of Milwaukee leaders have proposed privatizing the system through a long term lease in a desperate effort to generate revenue. Privatization has been tried in other cities and led to: soaring water rates; declining investment in water system infrastructure; political corruption; and a lack of accountability.
You can help stop this by:
1) Signing the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/Stop-Water-Privatization-Wisconsin
2) Come to the Milwaukee City Hall (200 E Wells St) Monday, June 15th at 12:30 p.m. to attend a rally then the Steering and Rules Committee Meeting at 1:30 p.m. Let the aldermen know that we do not support privatizing Milwaukee's water.
Be there!
