Martirika (Baptismal Ribbon Pins)
Martirika or Florakia, as Greeks call them, are a traditional ribbon-pin used by Greek Orthodox faithful in their baptismal ceremonies to signify the witnessing of the event.
Our martirika are all hand-sewn with great attention to detail. All materials are top quality and the difference shows. We use silk ribbons, fine lace, and metal icons and crosses imported direct from Greece. Each is hand made by our talented and experienced staff.
Typically, one ribbon per guest attending the event is given. Specials imprinted with the status of important persons in the child's life are given to people such as the Godfather, Godmother, grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. All items are priced per dozen with the exception of the Specials.
Most of these photos are items intended for boys, thus the blue ribbon and lace. Most can also be made in pink for girls. We can mix and match and components, or we can create something completely new. All orders are customized to your needs. Names and dates can also be imprinted on the ribbons for an additional fee of $7.20 per dozen plus a flat rate setup fee of $10.00 per order. Not all ribbons are wide enough for printing.

These are the currently available styles for the crosses/icons
attached
to the ribbons. The cross in the upper right hand
corner also comes with pink or blue enamel. The cross in
the center does not have a loop and must be glued or
cross-stitched into place.
Please keep in mind this is just an overview of the martirika that we can make for you. If you don't see exactly what you are looking, we can tailor or other designs to meet your needs or design something completely from scratch. Call or email and tell us what you need. We're always glad to help.
