Florakia (Baptismal Ribbon Pins)Florakia, as Greeks call them, are a traditional ribbon-pin used by Greek Orthodox faithful in their baptismal ceremonies. The pins are used to signify one's participation in this important religious event in the Orthodox faith. Unlike many other Christian religions, the baptismal ritual in the Orthodox faith also includes the first communion and confirmation of the child. It then becomes the responsibility of the Godparent(s) to ensure the child follows the faith. Our florakia are all hand-sewn with great attention to detail. We use no staples, glue, or other corner-cutting construction methods. All materials are top quality and the difference shows. Typically, one ribbon per guest attending the event is given. Specials imprinted with the status of important persons in the child's life are given to people such as the Godfather, Godmother, grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. All items are priced per dozen with the exception of the Specials. Most of these photos are items intended for boys, thus the blue ribbon and lace. Most can also be made in pink for girls. We can mix and match and components, or we can create something completely new. All orders are customized to your needs. Names and dates can also be imprinted on the ribbons for an additional fee of $7.20 per dozen plus a flat rate setup fee of $10.00 per order. Not all ribbons are wide enough for printing.
Please keep in mind this is just an overview of the florakia that we can make for you. If you don't see exactly what you are looking, we can tailor or other designs to meet your needs or design something completely from scratch. Call or email and tell us what you need. We're always glad to help. If you plan on ordering florakia, please read our Party Favor Ordering Policy page. |
